the Hellenic Link (HL), prominent topics that will be featured on its Agenda include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>The project on the Byzantine Civilization<\/u>. It centers on the development of a modular Teaching\/Learning Guide for use in secondary education schools. The project is being carried out collaboratively between the Advisory Council on Hellenic Education of the HL and the Institute of Historical Research (IIE) of the National Foundation of Res earch (EIE) of Greece. This collective project is conducted in accordance with a formal agreement of collaboration reached, soon to be ratified by the two entities. The matters of writing the modular units of the Guide, the editorial process and the production of a draft copy wll be discussed in detail and endorsed for implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The enrichment of the U.S. didactic literature with this particular publication is considered significant, as it comes to fill a serious gap in the coverage of Byzantium\u00a0 by the relevant high school curricula of Social Studies (see also the news item in Greek, above).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The BOD will also consider for feasibility and endorsement a proposed new project aimed at strengthening the infrastructure of Hellenic Education in the country by designing joint activities among existing carriers that administer the teaching of Greek language and culture in the U.S.A.<\/li>\n<li>Another need is to promote further productive collaborative connections between the HL and Hellenic educational institutions, such as those initiated with the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and the University of Patras.
